TAIS TENG Tais Teng is the pseudonym of Thijs van Ebbenhorst Tengbergen (1952). He wanted to become a space pilot or a diver looking of sunken treasures. This was not meant to be and after a short period of studying biology he focused on painting, drawing and writing short stories. In the 70s he gained fame within the science fiction genre working as an illustrator on a number of bookcovers. In that time he painted so much exploting spaceships that for a long time he could not look at fireballs, he said. He started working with different science fiction magazines, such as King Kong, SF and Holland-SF. In the 80s he started to write books for youths. His first work, a fairytale-like/horror/SF story was released in 1982. Until now Teng has written more than 90 books for kids and adults. He prefers scary stories and science fiction but he also likes detectives and historical novels.

W.J. MARYSON W.J. Maryson is the pseudonym of Wim Stolk (1950); he comes from the Dutch village of Lier. He was art painter and tried to make a living as a musician. He worked as a writer for advertisements for about twenty years. In 1995 he made his debut as an author with his novel "Sperling", with which he made a thunderous entry into the world of Dutch fantasy. Press and public praised the work. "Sperling" was het first part of a series of five, called "Meestermagiër". The series revolve around Jyll, an every day boy from a nomadic tribe; who is proclaimed to be the One by seer by the tribe. It is said that the One will save the world Aidén from the evil powers that threaten its existance. The way the company of travellers encounter adventure after adventure is reminiscent of the work of the master of fantasy: J.R.R. Tolkien. There is another surprising element attached to the "Meestermagiër"-cycle. A German record company has released two CDs thusfar: "Sperling" and "On goes the Quest", on which Maryson and his (symphonic-rock) band he tells the story of the series in musical form. The CDs have reached a larger audience and have been released in Germany, The Netherlands, Sweden, Belgium, France and Japan.

This story was a huge success, both in his home country as well as internationally and marked his breakthrough as author. Since then he has published more than 200 works, often working together with his wife. He also is listed as one of the most read German authors. He also helps other authors, such as Bernhard Hennen.
