SCHÖNGEIST With Schöngeist Timur Karakus has become the first German-speaking rock singer with Turkish roots who in 2006 has taken up the idea to unite, at least musically, the Orient with the West. A logical but perhaps also an overdue conclusion of his generation. At first it may sound like oriental rock but in fact his music is a soulful, progressive-modern kind of rock music that also incorporates a bit of gothic as well as industrial elements. www.schoengeist-music.com

BACIO DI TOSCA The dark-romantic music of Bacio di tosca fascinates above all with the
manifold classical chant of Dörthe Flemming. Stilistically Bacio di
Tosca is a recollection to the german Kunstlied (art song or lieder),
popular during the romantic period. For instance Dörthe Flemming puts
composers like Schubert and poets like Heinrich Heine, Mathias Claudius
and Karoline von Günderrode in a new gloomy and melancholy dress. –
„Bacio di Tosca – the voice of sadness“!. www.bacio-di-tosca.de

The sound that comes from a multitude of instruments, such as hurdy-gurdy; cittern; cornamuse; whistle; goblet drum; trumpet or harp is woven in with the beautiful voices of the two singers and is turned into music that touches the heart. The songs of Tibetréa are sometimes dream-like, sometimes captivating which makes sure that the listener can ‘see’ the raw and mysterious worlds from saga, legend and myth come to life. www.tibetrea.de

ATELIER ARTERRE Creative spirits can come to the Ghostly Gazebo and make their own paint from natural materials. Let your imagination run free during this exclusive workshop.
Martine Lavens is teacher with the Atelier Arterre in Malmedy (Belgian Ardennes). In 2000 she was introduced to clay and ceramics. After a couple of years teaching in a private atelier she went to study at the art academy in Tongeren (ceramics) and Verviers (sculpting and art history). For her modelling work the human body and the face with its many expressions are a great source of inspiration to her. She continues to do internships and workshops. It remains a fascination for her to 'sample' different techniques and getting to know different people and their ideas. The change, inspiration and knowledge it brings can be shared with others.
If possible natural materials such as clay, mud, glass, minerals and pigments will be used. During the construction and finishing of the atelier and the house she continued the search for natural materials. Her interest in old paint-recipes and natural paint grew; a fascinating and colourful subject matter. Ecological painting has many profit: they are free of toxins; they are anti-static and are surprisingly easy to make. These natural pigments offer a multitude of warm colours no synthetic paint can come close to. Get inspired by nature and take part in this workshop. www.arterre.eu

Poi consist of two (illuminated) objects that are attached to a chain or rope and connected by handles or fingerloops. To play with the poi you take one poi in each hand and try to make various circular movements to get them to spin in the air. The goal is to combine the track of both poi in the most artistic way.
