Trains, shuttle buses, car; how do I get there?

Travelers by train: from a train station near you, you should travel to the Venlo CS train station. You can use these websites www.ov9292.nl of www.ns.nl to make a travel itinerary.
Car: Arcen is located next to the N271 motorway, for a detailed and personal route from your destination of departure, you should check http://maps.google.nl/maps. Fill in the address of the Castle Gardens Arcen into the search engine. Once you are in Arcen you should follow the signs on the road that show the way to the Elf Fantasy Fair.
Shuttle buses: drive on both days between the Venlo train station and the event terrain. A return ticket costs €5,-. It’s a drive of approx. 20 minutes. Below you’ll find the schedule of the shuttle buses.

Children of 2 years and younger have free entrance.

Where can I buy my tickets?

You can buy your tickets online, until 16th September 2011, through arcen.elffantasyfair.com. Tickets are also sold at the cash register at the castle, during the event. The bar code of the tickets will be scanned, this can only happen once; after scanning the ticket becomes invalid. It is not possible to print a ticket more than once. One bar code equals one entry.

What should I do if I lost my E-ticket or if I have ordered a ticket for the wrong day?

In that case you should go the Paylogic website: www.paylogic.nl. There you can log in with your username and password, both of which you have received when you registered to order your tickets. Is the castle open for visitors during the Elf Fantasy Fair?

Yes, part of the castle will be open for visitors. Part of the programme will take place inside the castle. 

How much does the parking of a car cost during the Elf Fantasy Fair?

A parking ticket is valid for one day and costs €5. These parking tickets can be purchased on the parking lot when you arrive. Parking tickets should also be shown when you leave the parking lot. The parking lot is located at the front of the Castle Garden Arcen, across from the entrance. 

Is the line-up the same on either days or does it differ?

The line-up is for the large part the same, except that times may vary because on Saturday the terrain is open for ten hours and on Sunday for seven hours. There is also a different music line-up on Saturday and Sunday. Certain actors or authors appear only one day. Because the programme is packed full, and there is a lot that’s worth your while, it might be appealing to come on both days to the event.

Are animals (dogs) allowed on the premises?

Dogs are allowed on most parts of the festival terrain but they must be kept on a leash. Please heed the signs.

Can I do some fire breathing?

It is allowed to do some fire breathing on the terrain; however you need to bring your own equipment and you heed to heed the instructions of the organization and/or fire brigade.

Where can I find lodgings?

We want to help the visitors of the Elf Fantasy Fair to find a place to spend the night by giving you a number of options of places where you can stay overnight (near the EFF terrain), for a reasonable price. So, if you are coming to Elfia a day before or if you are visiting on both days; it might be a good idea to find lodgings.

Plants and animals

In the Castle Gardens Arcen you can find a unique collection of plants and animals (a. o. Beluga sturgeons, squirrel monkeys, lemuroids, Koi carps, vultures and other birds). We therefore ask you to treat all animals with respect.
